Sunnfjord Museum

Sunnfjord Museum is located next to Movatnet on E39 outside the centre of Førde, 2 km west of Moskog. This is a cultural history museum with collections and exhibitions that portray the daily life of people living in Sunnfjord throughout the times.

The outdoor museum is made up of an original crofter’s farm, and a reconstructed cluster farm with herb garden, støl (mountain farm) and cultural landscape. These constructions come from the whole of Sunnfjord, and show a timeline of Norwegian traditional building techniques from the 1500s to the 1900s.

The museum lies in a beautiful location surrounded by Norwegian nature. Here you will find many tourist paths with signs that tell you about the history of nature, culture and place.

We offer guided tours to all our guests who want to experience the outdoor museum. We also have a museum shop and a kiosk.
